MASAKI PATENT FIRM was founded in 2012 by Masaki Ban after his 9-year
experience on patent prosecution at two patent law firms in Tokyo and Osaka.
Our firm has a strength in chemistry but covers a wide range of technical
fields such as pharmaceuticals, food process engineering, metal engineering,
daily necessities, structures, machines and electronic devices.
The firm is located at Toyohashi City just in the middle of Tokyo and Osaka,
famous for the key port of importation and exportation of automobile as
well as the headquarters location of Volkswagen ® Japan.
In Toyohashi, there are many fabricators which produce various kinds of
parts and devices for automobiles because headquarters and factories of Toyota and Suzuki, big names of global automobile companies, are located nearby. Toyohashi is also
famous for a major producer of garden plants such as Phalaenopsis and Delphinium as well as and vegetables such as cabbage and broccoli.

- I, the founder of MASAKI PATENT FIRM, have engaged in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, prior art seach including patent infringement search with the specific emphasis on chemical, pharmaceutical and medical device patents since 2001. Nearly half of my 9-year experience in two patent law firms in Tokyo and Osaka was dedicated to international cases, including Paris-route and PCT applications, from Japan to foreign countries (mainly US) and vice versa, so I can commucate with foreign agents while giving full consideration of the difference in legal systems between Japan and a foreign country.
